Online and face-to-face supervision

Ethics blocks (respect, honesty, integrity) “Counselling ethics and professional integrity – respect, honesty and integrity values”

Good supervision should be more than case management or ticking ethical boxes.

It should be a place where you can think deeply about your work, reflect honestly on yourself as a therapist, and feel supported — especially when the work becomes complex, stuck, emotionally demanding or uncertain.

I offer supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists working with individuals and couples, both in private practice and within organisations. I also work with trainees and newly qualified therapists who are developing confidence in their clinical voice.

My approach to supervision is collaborative, thoughtful and relational. I aim to create a space where you can bring not only your clients and ethical dilemmas, but also your uncertainty, frustration, self-doubt, reactions and blind spots — without fear of judgement.

Supervision works best when it feels alive and real.

Alongside exploring client work, we may think together about:

  • the therapeutic relationship
  • unconscious processes and parallel process
  • difference, power and identity
  • boundaries and ethical tensions
  • the emotional impact of the work
  • professional development and confidence
  • sustaining yourself in long-term practice

I draw particularly on Hawkins and Shohet’s Seven-Eyed Model alongside relational, psychodynamic and integrative approaches to supervision.

I have over thirty years’ experience as a therapist in universities, charities and private practice, and I continue to value supervision as an essential and creative part of therapeutic work. I believe good supervision should support both safe practice and the development of a therapist’s depth, authenticity and resilience.

I offer supervision:

  • in-person in Dawlish, Devon
  • online across the UK
  • for individuals and couples work
  • for qualified therapists and trainees

Finding the right supervisor matters.

I offer an initial informal conversation by phone or video so we can think together about whether working together feels like a good fit. My fee for ongoing supervision is £70 for one hour.
